ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECTS

Project: Shooting Star Golf Course – Natural Resource Manag
Location: Teton Village, WY
Date: 2006
Goal:
To meet Teton County, Wyoming’s requirements for environmental planning for a golf course located at the headwaters of Fish Creek, a class 1 stream.

Description:
Water resources and existing riparian habitat at the Shooting Star Golf Course were identified as the most important natural resources on the property. Intermountain Aquatics developed a series of golf course design, construction and operation Best Management Practices (BMPs) to protect and enhance these resources. The BMPs were developed from extensive literature reviews and by combining general BMPs with existing site-specific conditions. Intermountain Aquatics also developed an adaptive management strategy that incorporates BMP changes based on water quality monitoring results, turf conditions, improving technology and scientific advancements. The Natural Resource Management Plan currently serves as an in-depth guide to the golf course design and construction team and the golf course superintendent for natural resource protection and enhancement.
