Lemhi River-Kenney Creek - stream restoration

IMA partnered with the Lemhi Regional Land Trust and the Idaho Office of Species Conservation to improve floodplain connectivity and side-channel habitat along the Lemhi River. This work is part of a broader effort to support the recovery of salmon and steelhead populations across the Pacific Northwest. A unique element of this project was the construction of a side channel that terminates within an existing riparian forest, creating “Stage 0”–like conditions. This habitat type provides critical rearing habitat for juvenile salmonids.

Pre-project conditions consisted of a completely disconnected floodplain
